Richard Jones Furniture
Tom Lancaster, Graduate in FD Furniture Making, 2009 'The Tin Bath'. Prototype bench in plywood, European ash, fabric upholstery and finished with pigmented pre-catalysed lacquer.

Harry Greaves, 1st year FD Furniture Making, 2009Lounging Chair in steam bent air dried European ash, leather and finished with lacquer. This piece was Harry's response to the first year Design and Prototype module-- go to the Teaching and Student Work page for a description of the modules students undertake. 
Gareth Hurd, Graduate in FD Furniture Making, 2009 Cheval Mirror. Commissioned piece in European cherry finished with a shellac base coat followed by sprayed lacquer.
Henry Bagshawe, 1st year FD Furniture Making, 2009. Commode in European oak, veneered MDF and upholstered. Dyed and lacquered. The seat lifts to reveal storage. This
piece was Henry's response to the first year Design and Prototype
module and was designed for a specific location at the end of a bed.

Ben Jarvis, Graduate in FD Furniture Making, 2009. Rocker in American black walnut and hard maple. Finished with boiled linseed oil. Sam Maloof's influence is strongly evident. 
Richard Appleton, 1st year FD Furniture Making, 2009. Dining Chair.
European ash executed entirely using hand construction methods and
finished with shellac. Loosely based on traditional chair
configurations found in the Norfolk area of England. This piece was Richard's response to the first year Design and Prototype module.

Craig Bunko, Graduate in FD Furniture Making, 2009. Sideboard in solid and veneers of European oak finished with lacquer.

Elizabeth Nutbrown, 1st year FD Furniture Making 2009. Ash Rocker with cushions and lacquered. Based largely on a pre-existing plan this was Liz's response to the Design and Prototype module.

Kiersten Hunt, Graduate in FD Furniture Making, 2009 Extending Dining Table using a swivel top mechanism and hinged top. Solid
American black walnut and veneers on MDF. Finished with boiled
linseed oil to 'warm up' colour of the walnut followed by sprayed
lacquer.

William Jones, 1st year FD Furniture Making, 2009. 'Chunky' Garden Chair. European oak finished with boiled linseed oil. This was William's response to the Design and Prototype module.

Max Eastwood, 1st year FD Furniture making, 2009. Laminated Chair. Ash constructional veneers, solid ash, threaded rod, steel tubing, washers and nuts. Finished with lacquer. Max's response to the Design and Prototype module.
